Compass Services Group was first established by MD Gary Miller in 2003. With a background in the Electrical industry, the business started life as a one-man venture working from home to provide electrical services and data cabling installations for commercial clients.

The business grew quickly and within a number of months, Compass employed its first member of staff. Further staff followed over the next couple of years as the business grew its client base and reputation quickly and in 2005 Compass recruited its first apprentices, taking the staff to 5.
 

In 2006, the business moved to it’s first premises in Denton Holme Trading Estate, where it still has its main office today, later expanding into the neighbouring unit to provide increased office storage space.
 

The business continued to grow over the following years and in 2010 the decision was taken to extend the services provided to include Fire & Security systems. This was established with the acquisition of a small local security company and was quickly followed by the opening of a branch office in Workington. A further acquisition was completed in 2015 when Pro-Tec Systems (Cumbria) Ltd was taken on to complement our existing business in West Cumbria and increase our client base.
 

Today we are one of the leading Specialist Technical Services companies in the region, employing almost 30 staff consisting of a management team, support staff, engineers and apprentices, we design, install and maintain Fire, Security, Electrical & Data systems, we operate in business sectors from Industrial to commercial, Education to Healthcare, we do this throughout the North of England and South of Scotland.
